Draft water sharing plans

All draft water sharing plans are placed on public exhibition to enable community members and other interested parties to comment. When all these contributions have been considered, the plan is formally gazetted by the Minister and becomes a legal document under the Water Management Act 2000. Once a water sharing plan is formally commenced, the rules apply within the plan area.

In most instances the plan commences within a short time after its gazettal. A full list of commenced water sharing plans and associated documents is located on this website under Commenced water sharing plans.
